Today Brought to YOU by GOD --Psa 118:24

©Lightwritingmatters 2015

“This is the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
--Psa 118:24

This photo is powerful and symbolic to life. Your day may start as a grey day with a period of 'when it rains it pours'. It may just be a hohum day with no motivation. It may be a day that doesn't seem to hold promise but then a ray of light begins to break the clouds and your spirit notices and gets excited.

Life is not always a photo op as this was. But, it does mirror at times the natural changes that occur in any day to the circumstances directly affecting you at the moment.

But the bottom line, whatever the real day brings, the actual 24 hours or the moment you are distracted by the complications of the day, it was provided to you by the Creator of all things, the Sovereign GOD, our FATHER in Heaven. At some point in a troubled or perplexing day perhaps you can find the time to 'Rejoice and be glad in it'. The one way to surely remove the moment of gloom is to give thanks in prayer to GOD for the day of life and trust that HE knows what you need before ever you become aware of it. [Matt 6:8]

NOTICE: If you are feeling inclined or feeling led to want Jesus as your Savior, your leader, your King, your source of Peace and Joy but are feeling woefully inadequate, uninformed on how best to get to know HIM, or find yourself at wit’s end because you believe yourself trapped and in need of GOD, please know Jesus stands ready to welcome you with HIS Holy Spirit. Believe these words: “16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. “—John 3:16

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.” – Acts 3:19-20

“Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born [a]again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” – John 3:3-8

Bruised Reed and Jesus Matt 12.20

©Lightwritingmatters 2015

Jesus, our Lord, quoted Isa 42:3 as HE and HIS disciples left a confrontation with Pharisees who conspired to kill HIM. HE quoted the prophet Isaiah who wrote about Jesus in the 42nd chapter of Isaiah. The point of the decision to leave the situation the Pharisees [the legal team for the Jews] had created was to preclude anything happening to Jesus at that particular moment. HE knew when HIS time would be to voluntarily go with the authorities and it was not at this point in HIS mininstry. In fact, Isaiah's prophecy had much to say that Jesus was yet to do and because of this prophecy Jesus avoided interruption to HIS ministry.

The actual prophecy, though partially quoted here, is a wonderful compassionate statement about our Redeemer. "

“Behold my servant, whom I uphold,

my chosen, in whom my soul delights;

I have put my Spirit upon him;

he will bring forth justice to the nations.

He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,

or make it heard in the street;

a bruised reed he will not break,

and a faintly burning wick he will not quench;

he will faithfully bring forth justice.He will not grow faint or be discouraged

till he has established justice in the earth;

Our redeemer lives! HE is compassionate. During this time when darkness seems to be contaminating everything in life -- sometimes seeping into our own lives -- we have faith and confidence in our LORD HIS gentle and empathetic nature will be our place of safety.

Has HE risen in YOUR HEART

©Lightwritingmatters 2015

“Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, “saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”-Luke 24:5-7

As we observe the nineteen hundred eighty eighth time of this momentous, life saving and eternally destined statement and the occasion of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, let us be mindful of the entirety of the week's events. I cannot put it better than the sermons presented here:

Please watch with diligence and attention to the many details of the week’s events being presented in each talk.

We must consider this statement: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”--John 14:6 [Changes to emphasis on verse with color and size made by author] As we consider Jesus as being the Truth should Christians not now seek to correct a long standing ‘custom’ of celebrating the ‘Passion’ week, not based on custom -- but based on Biblical accuracy. In as much as the Bible set the ‘date’ for the first ever passover on Nisan 14 of the Hebrew calendar, as given them by God who named the months, set the dates and had celebrations, observances to plant those dates in perpetuity, should we not obediently reconcile our practices accordingly?

Passover is Nisan 14-- was pinpointed in place until this very day from way back in Egypt when the Jews were enslaved. Just before the momentous and significant day of Passover, we back up to Nisan 10, this is the date in Egypt that Jews were given the command to go and select a lamb and bring it into their home to keep until Passover. The lamb would be a figurative likeness to Jesus, whose cousin, John, hailed “...Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”--John 1:29

Christians are faced with a calendar problem when the Jews of the world observe Nisan 14 on one day, like in 2021, yet Christians adopt the whole week from ‘Palm Sunday’ through the Passover to ‘Resurrection Sunday’ appellate [given instead of the pagan word Easter] a week later. They refer to it as the ‘Passion Week’. But looking at the origins of this whole week and it’s placement on the calendar it is tied directly to the practice of ‘Lent’. The Passion week is then allegedly to culminate in Easter on the 6 week from the beginning of Lent.

As a Christian, I do not and never have observed Lent. I am of the belief we should be holding the dates our Lord observed when HE observed them, which in the case of Passover was and still is Nisan 14. That is the anchor date that should frame any consideration of the Passion week by the events that took place historically tied to his fulfilling various aspects of prophecies and festivals from the first time they were designated by GOD to HIS people, the Jews.

This year, 2021, Passover fell a week before the ‘Passion week’ began. It was wonderful listening to the sermons explaining each day and its significance in the life and fulfillment of Christ as HE proceeded through HIS final week on earth as HE appeared for the 33 years of HIS life. The problem? When the Christians got to ‘Good Friday’ [Passover] they were a week late.

Would it not be more important for the Christian to truly celebrate the Passion Week by making sure they put the Nisan 10 ride on the back of Donkey into Jerusalem through the Passover, Nisan 14, then on to Resurrection Day [some observe as First Fruits] regardless of the Day of the week so long as the week was observed the way it was by Christ?

For example, Nisan 14, 2023 will fall on a Wednesday. So, Nisan 10 [Palm Sunday] would fall on Saturday and Resurrection day would fall on Friday. Of course, the day begins after sundown for the Jewish calendar so these days are the evening of ...

It would take a concerted effort and would fly in the face of customs regarding the gregorian calendar; And Paul did say we should not fuss about days and seasons as one being more important than another,  but for Christians who wish to honor Christ in HIS week of passion and sacrifice it would stand to reason -- minus an edict to do so Biblically for Christians, it should at least be observed and taught about in it’s right time --- all in the same week as it actually happened in that last week of Christ’s life on earth in HIS man/God body. Not as a ‘custom’ tied to ancient fiddling with ‘religious’ days and rituals etc. Jesus came to preach liberty to the captives...

Jesus quoted “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;”  -- Isa 61:1

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.”--Luke 4:8-10

Those who are free in Jesus, please, let us be free in all things including captive to customs that devalue the importance of the events of the ‘passion’ week in Jesus last Passover week. As HE committed them to history -- not to custom.
